Shaun Murphy graduated from Melbourne's Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences in 1985 after working for 2 years in a rehabilitation hospital, he became physiotherapy manager of the Ballarat Base Hospital with 225 beds.
After completing graduate diploma of business in 1989, Shaun actively focused on musculoskeletal conditions including spinal pain and shoulders.
In 1996 Shaun travelled to Minneapolis, USA to complete a Graduate Diploma of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), via the McKenzie principles. This course focused on clinical reasoning to seek the source of pain and how to treat it effectively.
Shaun arrived in England in May 1999 and after working at Essex County Cricket Club, he successfully completed an acupuncture course which was updated in 2004. This allows Shaun to manage patient's pain using both western and eastern approaches.
In 2004 Shaun learnt how to utilise real time ultrasound to effectively treat spinal pain with core stability exercises. Most spinal patients are intrigued and quickly learn how to improve spinal stability using ultrasound.
Working closely with Orthopaedic surgeons specialising in either neck/back pain or shoulder conditions, Shaun can offer effective assessment and treatments which are influenced by the latest research worldwide.
